Your locomotive manufacturer will advise you on the minimum radius required for your model.
As a general rule express steam locomotives with a wheel arrangement 4-6-0 and above will prefer Large radius points and tolerate Medium radius but are not likely to go through Small radius points.

To complement the points PECO produce flexible track which allows you to lay your track to any radius and design. Flexible track is available with simulated wooden sleepers or simulated concrete sleepers.
