528 Water Tower - GW Pillar

This RATIO kit number 528 represents a GWR Pillar type water tower and integrated water crane which were once a common site at stations on GWR branch lines.

Included in the kit is a coal fired heater, known as a fire devil, which was used to keep the water cranes free of ice blockages in winter.

Having served on a preserved railway in "mince pie" season I can vouch for how important they were.

This kit has the option of either a GWR Conical roof or flat roof for the tank.

The Kit includes etched brass details and ladder.
