Before the railways joined together to form the London Midland and Scottish, Great Western Railway, London North Eastern Railway, or Southern Railway, there were many smaller private railway companies using small tank engines to provide local services.

Hornby's Highland Rambler set represents that time with a simple 0-4-0 tank engine and a mixed train containing a wagon and a coach. A mixed train carried both goods and passengers.

The set can be used on any hard flat surface providing it is dust free (Do not use on any form of carpet)
